Lab meeting

  • When: Thursdays, 11am
  • Where: Room 527 + Zoom
  • Organizer: Yanlai Yang
  • Format: rotating lab member presents; either (1) recent interesting papers, or (2) own work
  • Calendar invite: sent to the mengye-all@nyu.edu Google Group

1:1s with PI

  • PhD students: weekly during the academic year.
  • Booking link / calendar: TODO.

Etiquette

  • Don't be late.
  • In-person by default.
  • Reschedule or skip: tell your grad student mentor in advance. Aim for 48 hours' notice for meetings with the PI, night-before for meetings with your grad student.
  • Come prepared: slide deck, organized results, questions and ideas.

Weekly updates

For weekly updates (especially with the PI), keep content concise.

Include: detailed experiment settings and results, visualizations, analysis with supporting figures. Aim for the level you'd put in a paper.

Skip: low-level implementation details, debugging stories, raw loss curves for every run, unless you specifically want help on them.
